Zulema Lee

Treasurer of the Board

Zulema (Zuly) Lee is a seasoned education professional with two decades of dedicated service to at-risk youth and their families. Her passion for this population stems from a deep commitment to addressing educational inequities and barriers that hinder students' academic and career aspirations.

Zuly's career began in 2005 at Garden Grove Unified School District, where she served as a Spanish Community Liaison. In this role, she developed and facilitated parent training programs focused on attendance, educational planning, and student success. Subsequently, at the Orange County Department of Education, Zuly managed a caseload of foster care youth, producing Educational Progress Reports to support their educational attainment and equitable outcomes.

As a Program Specialist Administrator at Downey Unified School District, Zuly leverages a "Whole Child Lens" approach to collaboration with guardians, youth, schools, and the community. Her efforts ensure that the most vulnerable students receive the necessary support and services to thrive.

Zuly is proud to be the Vice President of the Board of Directors of Camp R.E.E.S., 'Preserving Our Future, Today.' She actively contributes to the organization's mission of preserving the future through community engagement, industry partnerships, and family support. She is dedicated to fostering the success of all children, particularly those who face the greatest challenges.
